Our Story

Last year during the holiday season, I was watching a Christmas movie. During the movie, the actress stated that she was going to bake sweet potato cookies. I said, sweet potato cookies. I love sweet potatoes, but I've never heard of sweet potato cookies. I have never baked anything before in my life. However, I baked sweet potato cookies every week beginning December 24 through February, in my attempts to bake the perfect cookies. I took a break and started baking again in mid-March. I experimented with cornbread, pound cake, and donuts. I allowed coworkers, family, and friends to be taste testers. My taste tester size was approximately 50 people. Two revelations resulted from the taste test. First, everyone stated they had never heard of sweet potato cookies. Secondly, everyone stated, that these cookies are so good!! I received the same feedback on the sweet potato pound cake, cornbread, and donuts. Hence, Yams Foods was born.

She discovered the amazing potential that sweet potatoes have in the world of pastry and decided to create a company that specializes in sweet potato baked goods. At Yams Foods, we believe that the possibilities are endless and we are always exploring new and exciting ways to incorporate sweet potatoes into our products.
